The Poetical Quotidian
January 2004

PU2 SUAN4 ZI
by Li3 Zhi1 Yi4 (1038-1117, Northern Song Dynasty)
translated by eleven

I live at the head of the Chang2jiang1 River,
You live at its end.
I cannot see you, and miss you everyday,
Even though we drink from the same river.

Will this river ever cease to flow?
Will our separation ever end?
I only wish your heart like mine,
Never betrays our love.
